Research and Planning: Masthead idea's

I got all theses fonts off www.dafont.com. I went through a few fonts to narrow down to 8 of them. I then decided I liked the last one. I like this one because it its rounded which makes me think of pop. It also looks funky and fun. Now i have picked my font I can now decided on colour and style. I have been on photoshop and has picked a colour, style and colour or background. Here is my idea of my masthead.

Research and Planning: My target audience

In this blog I am going to talk about my target audience. In going to categories my audience by Age, Gender, Occupation, Class, Wealth, Interests, Outlook for future.

Im going to Start with Age.

Age: I think that age that my music magazine will be aimed at will be between the ages of 12 - 16, but most of the sales will be towards 12 - 14.
Gender: I think a pop magazine will be aimed at females, from my results from my questionnaire it seems like females listen to more pop music.
Occupation: As the age of my audience will be 12 - 16, it is mostly school children who have not got a job or a part time job.
Class: It is really hard to tell with class, as the magazine is aimed at kids. Theses kids may be in a working to middle class families.
Wealth: As it is children i am aiming at they may only have a few pounds a week for pocket money but their parents may buy the magazine for them.
Interests: My target audience may be interested into Pop music, X - factor, fashion and big gigs in such places as at the MEN.
Outlook for the future: As they are teenagers they may not have any insight of what they want to do in the future.

Lifestyle: School kids having a break from homework.

Interests: Music, Films, Gossip

Education: School children

Socio - Ecomonic: E grouping, school children

Main picture: Famous female singer medium close up, smiling to look appealing and friendly.

Layout: Pink, blue and yellow colours. Masthead at the top, big font white and yellow, 4 smaller pictures to relate to the stories on the front, Different fonts. Barcode at the bottom on the page with issue number. Slug ling above the masthead.

I am going to analyse this magazine 'top of the pops' with pychographics.
Genre: pop
Age: 12 - 16
Gender: Female
Lifestyle: School kids, escape from homework to catch up with the latest gossip in music.
Interests: Music, Films, reading magazines, gossip etc.
Education: School Kids at high school
Socio - Ecomonic: E social grouping. school children
Main picture: Jonas Brothers an American pop band who's music aim at teens. Stood with main singer at the front and other two singers stood just behind him , smiling to look appealing and attract the readers. Head of main singer is covering the masthead. The picture is a medium close up.
Layout: Pinks, blue, yellow and white. Picture covering part of the masthead. 1 main picture then 5 small pictures to go with the stories. Lots of boxes and circles. 3 different fonts. Logo at the top of the page. Date and issue number at the bottom of the page.

Research and Planning: Music magazine questionnaire

This is my questionnaire i handed out to 10 people who are in my media class. Most of my questions are multiple choice but i had 2 questions which were open questions.

I have found out from my results that i should write about pop artists such as JLS, Katy Perry or Lady GaGa. I also found out that i should have my magazine in the colours either pink, purple and yellow. For my double spread i found out most people like to read about gigs but i don't think this would take up my double spread so then i will do it an interview.
