Research and Planning: Introduction to Indesign (indesign tutorial)

This is my film review i did on Indesign. This was my first time I have used Indesign and this is what I did.

  • First I found a review on the internet for as film, I then copied and pasted it onto a word document.
  • I then found a picture and saved it to my folder.
  • After this i opened Indesign and used the rectangle button on the tool bar and choose my colour and went from corner to corner on my document.
  • Once i had my background, I used the text tool and wrote my title.
  • I then had to insert my columns, I clicked on layout, then guidelines and then typed in how many columns I wanted.
  • To insert my film review i then pressed, file, place and then my film review.
  • When it appeared onto my screen it wasnt managed, i then clicked edit undo place and the text then attached to my mouse letting me move it anywhere i wanted.
  • I then clicked at the top of my column and then dragged my text down to fill it up. It was too big for that column but there was a little red box with a + in it, which i clicked and then i could do the same thing for the next two columns.
  • Once i did this i then, added my photo by clicking file, place, got my picture and then placed it on the film review.
  • When i tried to change the size of my picture, it didnt work so i had to click on
  • After i did this i then decided i wanted add a drop shadow to my picture and title.
  • I then added a page number by clicking on the text button and then clicked where i wanted it.
